Stainless Coil
Stainless Coil
Rolled Steel Products is a processor and stock metal service center for all grades and thicknesses of stainless coils. Our stainless steel coil can be rolled to a desired shape…round, modified, etc. This process is performed by removing the slitting burr from the edge of the slit stainless steel to make the edge safe for exposed applications. This process can also put a complete radius on the strip for applications needing a full round edging. Rolled Steel Products offers slitting, edging, and blanking services to tailor stainless coils to fit you requirements. We offer quick and reliable delivery for both small and large orders.
If you require stainless coil, we have several possible options to choose from. Our Loopco and Stamco precision slitters can slit up to 52 inches wide, run approximately 1000 FPM, slit up to 30 cuts at a time, and keep within .002 to .003 width tolerance. Rolled Steel Products carries a wide range of finishes and types in both 300 and 400 series stainless steel sheet and coil.
What is Stainless Steel
Stainless steel’s resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance and familiar luster make it an ideal material for many applications. There are over 150 grades of stainless steel, of which fifteen are most commonly used. The alloy is milled into coils, sheets, plates, bars, wire, and tubing to be used in cookware, cutlery, household hardware, surgical instruments, major appliances, industrial equipment (for example, in sugar refineries) and as an automotive and aerospace structural alloy and construction material in large buildings. Storage tanks and tankers used to transport orange juice and other food are often made of stainless steel, because of its corrosion resistance. This also influences its use in commercial kitchens and food processing plants, as it can be steam-cleaned and sterilized and does not need paint or other surface finishes.
