Our mission

Our mission is to promote the use of stainless steel. This includes a proactive marketing program geared towards designers, engineers, architects, and other material specialists to increase awareness on the value and benefits of stainless steel. We aim to provide reliable information and literature concerning stainless steel.

What is stainless steel?

Rolled stainless steel has unique properties, making it a powerful candidate in materials selection. It’s essentially a low carbon alloy, which contains chromium at 10% or more by weight. The additional chromium gives it a stainless quality, which is also corrosion resistant.

Its chromium content allows the formation of a rough, adherent, invisible, and corrosion-resistant oxide film on the surface. When damaged, either chemically or mechanically, this film self-heal by providing oxygen, even in very little amounts. The increased chromium properties as well as the addition of other substances such as nickel, nitrogen, and molybdenum enhance the resistance of steel.

There are more than 50 grades of stainless steel divided into five classes. Steel is also identified by its alloy elements that affect its microstructure for which it is labeled.

Types of Stainless Steel

To guarantee long-lasting performance, the materials consumers and manufacturers use should not only meet technical performance standards. It should be durable, flexible, and environmental friendly at the same time.

We provide a wide range of finishes in both the 300 and 400 series. As a globally oriented specialist, we continue to serve an increasing worldwide demand for high quality Rolled Stainless Steel products.

Type-304

It is the most widely used austenitic chromium-nickel alloy. Its carbon content is lower and its resistance to corrosion is higher than type-302. It has 8% nickel, with a maximum of .08% carbon, and a minimum of 18% chromium. It is also referred to as “Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy”.  Most cooking utensils are made up of this type.

Type-430

This is known for its ductility. It exhibits good forming characteristics and is readily fabricated by special operations. This includes bending, pressing, drawing, and heading. Its straight chromium, non-hardened grade with good corrosion resistance has reliable mechanical properties. 430 steel is also known for its strong resistance to nitric acid and is widely used in chemical applications and specific automotive procedures.
