Conflict Minerals Policy
Rolled Steel Products/ E & E Steel Company is committed to sourcing our raw materials from suppliers that share our values and follow our ethics, integrity, respect for human rights, and environmental responsibility.
This includes the sourcing of conflict minerals that are minerals mined in conditions of armed conflict and human rights abuses, and sold or traded by armed forces. International law recognizes that minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) region present a specific risk and requires companies trading in natural resources from this region to do so in a socially, economically, and environmentally responsible manner.
We aim to achieve a “conflict free” supply chain. This means a supply chain that does not directly or indirectly finance armed groups. We require complete supply chain transparency from all of our suppliers to achieve this goal. We do not purchase from the DRC and fully comply with the Conflict Minerals Act Policy to our knowledge.
We are committed to complying with Section 1502 of Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform and Consumer Protection ACT relating to the use of tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold – conflict minerals associated with financing regional violence and ongoing civil war in the DRC.
COMMUNICATING WITH SUPPLIERS
All of our Suppliers are notified of our Conflict Minerals Policy when we start doing business with them by referencing this policy as our commitment and adherence to our supply chain goals.
